Senior Manager of U.S. Tax
Base to £110,000 and bonus
My client is a global hospitality / entertainment group looking to hire an experienced qualified Tax professional to support the Director will lead the direct and indirect tax functions. This position will play a critical role in tax compliance, planning, and strategy, as well as managing audits, minimizing risk, and ensuring adherence to regulatory changes.Responsibilities include.
Tax Strategy & Planning:
- Provide leadership in tax planning strategies to optimize the company's effective tax rate and cash tax position.
- Advise on US tax implications of business decisions, new initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and implement strategies that align with the company's financial goals.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Working with our local tax advisers in preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for direct taxes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax payments, including estimated payments and extensions.
- Registration for sales taxes in local states.
- Liaise with the members and member representatives on K-1's.
- 1099 and 1042 annual process, working with advisers to prepare and complete.
Audit & Risk Management:
- Manage federal, state, and local tax audits, responding to inquiries, negotiating with authorities, and resolving issues.
- Proactively assess and minimize tax risks, ensuring compliance with new and existing tax laws.
- Maintain and develop strong working relationships with external tax advisors and auditors.
Tax Process & Technology Improvement:
- Drive process improvements and implement technology solutions to enhance efficiency in tax reporting and compliance.
- Stay current on emerging tax laws, regulations, and compliance issues, and ensure the company adapts quickly to these changes.
This role required four (4) days a week in the office.
