Social Care & Education is hiring Support Workers to provide 2:1 care for a client with autism and PDA. We are looking for a compassionate individual with a patient, empathetic approach who excels at using communication and non-verbal cues. Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours is essential.This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a full-time, permanent position.
The RoleAs a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the service user with daily activities and routines.
- Encouraging independence while maintaining dignity and respecting preferences.
- Planning and participating in activities such as outings, gym visits, and cultural events.
- Delivering person-centred care tailored to the service user’s individual needs.
- Proactively managing triggers and behaviours to create a safe, supportive environment.
- Following detailed care plans and providing handovers to family members.
- Supporting weekend trips, including overnight stays (accommodation arranged).
- Performing domestic duties to maintain a positive home environment.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will need:- A minimum of 6 months experience in a supported living environment.
- A good understanding of challenging behaviour management, moving & handling, and person-centred care.
- A full UK manual driving license (essential).
- Current training certifications and an enhanced DBS (online registration preferred).
- Immediate start for the right candidate.
