Senior Staff Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background of high dependency surgical nursing wishing to further their career within the speciality.

Main duties of the job

We are a 14-bedded Surgical Special Care Unit that provides care for surgical high dependency patients requiring Level 2 support across a range of surgical specialities including neurosurgery, head and neck, vascular, upper and lower GI, spinal and major trauma.

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, professional and demonstrates strong leadership skills who can work under pressure as part of a team. In addition, you should possess good organisational skills and communication skills.

Qualifications

• NMC registration
• Step 1 Critical Care Competency Workbook
• Mentorship or equivalent

• Critical Care Course

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years critical care/level 2 experience
• Evidence of supporting learning/education in practice
• Evidence of effective communication skills

• Evidence of management/leadership experience
• Evidence of being involved in Quality Improvement
