The procurement team have an exciting new role of Supply Chain Assistant and are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team. As the Supply Chain Assistant you will be required to support the team in delivering a comprehensive Receipt & Delivery service, Renal and Dietetic Service and support the Materials Management team.This involves ensuring deliveries for goods across the Trust are made in a timely manner to prevent delays or cancellations to clinics/procedures, orders are correctly receipted on the Trust systems to allow for invoices to be paid without delay.
You will be involved with ensuring accurate records are kept for goods received / delivered / returned for traceability purposes. You will need to plan the effective delivery of medical and non-medical consumables to wards and departments by planning and co-ordinating the requirements of these activities with these departments to meet the customer expectations.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a highly effective, compliant and customer focussed Procurement services, which meets the Trusts procurement requirements, whilst supporting the Trust’s Cost Improvement Plan (CIP). The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills as you will need to influence internal customers whilst building and maintaining good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- To supervise the Receipt & Delivery team and Renal & Dietetic Stores Assistant, ensuring appropriate balanced workloads, and providing training, support and guidance for the team.
- To deliver comprehensive Receipt & Delivery/Dietetic and Renal services ensuring orders are correctly receipted on the Trust systems to allow for invoices to be paid without delay and deliveries for goods across the Trust are made in a timely manner to prevent delays or cancellations to clinics/procedures.
- To keep and maintain accurate records for goods received / delivered / returned for traceability purposes.
- To efficiently plan and monitor the use of available resources.
- To contribute to the delivery of highly effective, compliant and customer focussed services, meeting the Trust’s requirements.
- To provide a full materials management service to all patient clinical areas using appropriate stock control and re-ordering systems.
- To ensure the correct use of PDA’s to scan product bar codes, collect stock information and download for purchase order processing via NHS Supply Chain, and E-Procurement System.
- To assist on the resolution of purchase order/ delivery/ invoice variances and disputes.
- To contribute to the delivery of highly effective compliant and customer focussed supply chain services, which meets the Trusts procurement and materials management Requirements, including the Cost Improvement Plan (CIP)

Essential criteria- NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages
