We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and innovative Dietitian to join our Stroke, Rehabilitation and Early Supported Discharge team.

This exciting post provides an opportunity to develop the service as you will be the designated Lead Dietitian for the inpatient Stroke Service, based at the Princess Royal Hospital. You will assess, diagnose/interpret and manage your own caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner.

Ideally we are looking for someone who has Stroke/ Neurology experience, is flexible, has good time management skills and works well in a team as well as independently. This post holder would be expected to mentor students by being a practice educator linked with the Universities.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant would be expected to work as part of the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure nutritional screening tools and associated care plans are implemented, provide enteral feeding regimens as required and attend MDT meetings as appropriate.

The successful applicant would also be part of the wider Dietetic team and as well as working with the Stroke Team the applicant would be able to access support from their Dietetic colleagues within the Trust.

Clinical Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive post-graduate clinical experience in dietetics
  • Experience of working in a MDT environment
  • Can demonstrate ability to prioritise and manage the caseload effectively
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in Stroke or Neurology setting

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Broad knowledge of clinical area
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrates ability to support parents/ carers/ family

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Post registration training in clinical area
Desirable criteria
  • gained or willing to work towards MSc level qualification

leadership

  • Experience of audit/ research
  • Experience of Teaching/ presentation
