We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Salaried GP’s to join our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) Bank Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within well-equipped, multi-disciplinary environments, providing high-quality urgent care to patients in Crawley, Lewes and surrounding areas.

As part of our bank team, you will assess and manage urgent cases, collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, and make a meaningful impact in delivering patient-centered care. The UTC handles a wide range of urgent but non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, supported by advanced facilities such as X-ray, ECG, and specialized consultation rooms.

You will be a dedicated and empathetic professional with broad experience in urgent and primary care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for quality improvement. Main duties of the job

Undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.

Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively.

Participate in service and business planning activity for the team.

Attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust as appropriate to the role, including the monthly departmental academic meetings, Medical Education Afternoons and Grand Rounds as part of the internal CPD programme.

Participate annually in a job plan review as set out in the Trust policy on this area.

Comply with the UTC and Trust’s agreed policies, procedures, standing orders and financial instructions, and to take an active role in the financial management of the service for own area of work.

Recognise and take responsibility for safeguarding children, young people and adults, using appropriate systems for identifying, sharing information, recording and raising concerns, obtaining advice and taking action.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Qualified doctor with GMC registration and Licence to Practice
  • Registered on the GMC GP Register and Performer List
  • Membership of Royal College of General Practitioners – MRCGP
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad experience in management of patients in urgent care settings and primary care.
  • Experience of working in a multi-professional team and taking full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Experience of quality improvement activity and service development.
  • Evidence of commitment to teaching and training in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Other

Essential criteria
  • Ability to travel to meet the requirements of the job

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Awareness of potential abuse factors and Safeguarding mechanisms.
  • Ability to use IT and standard Microsoft and clinical software.
  • Strong patient focus and caring and empathetic attitude.
  • Able to use leadership and interpersonal skills to persuade and build collaboration with patients, carers, Secondary and Primary Care and other agencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, external agencies, patients and carers recognising people’s needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly.
