Oldham Council is looking for passionate and committed Social Workers to join our Permanence Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in securing stable, loving, and long-term homes for children and young people.As a Permanence Social Worker, you will work to ensure that children in care receive high-quality support and achieve the best possible outcomes. Responsibilities
Undertake assessments and care planning for children and young people in care.Develop and implement permanence plans that support stability and long-term outcomes.
Work closely with foster carers, adopters, and connected carers to ensure the best placement matches.
Advocate for children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making.
Prepare and present reports for reviews, courts, and multi-agency meetings.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and support.
Requirements
Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.Experience: At least two years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within safeguarding, child protection, or permanence.
Skills: Strong assessment, planning, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge: Understanding of child development, attachment theory, and permanency planning.
Other Requirements: Ability to travel across Oldham.
