Blue Sea is a people-centric business that’s been sourcing, processing, and supplying the highest quality crab products for 20 years and is set for continued growth over the next few years! Blue Sea is the largest crab producer in Europe with BRCGS AA+ certification.Having recently been acquired by New England Seafood International Ltd the company is now looking for a Food and Specifications Technologist to support development of products for the retail sector. Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager you will be responsible for creating finished product specifications and managing the specification process for customers, within set timescales. You will be a key member of the development team, whose responsibility will be to liaise with retail customer and internal partners in the creation and development of specifications and assist in NPD as the site continues to grow.

Duties include:- Conducting trials for new products, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute successful trials
- Coordinating closely with production to ensure seamless integration of new products
- Maintain detailed records of trials, NPD and other relevant processes
- Creating and reviewing product specifications in both the company own format and across a number of retail specification platforms
- Ensuring the site stays compliant with retailer quality standards
- Provision of support for customer and third-party audits
- Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as required
- Food Science degree – e.g. BSc Food & Nutrition or BSc Food Science & Technology advantageous
- Either recent graduate or minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing role
- Self-motivated, inquisitive individuals with a drive for continuous improvement
