Locally Employed Doctor - Department of Medicine for Older People

Applications are invited for the post of Locally Employed Doctor in the Department of Medicine for Older People and Stroke, the post will be based in the Liverpool University’s Hospital Trust. Cross site cover between Royal and Broadgreen sites will be required.
The successful candidate will assist with the management of the team’s in-patients in our Medical wards.
Currently the Trust contains over 700 beds and provides a comprehensive variety of clinical services in most of the main Medical and Surgical specialities. The Trust is due to open a new Royal LiverpoolUniversity Hospital, located next to the existing building, which will be the future central hub for specialist and complex care in the region and planned to form part of a new biomedical campus, with numerous future partnerships of which the Department of Medicine for Older People and
Stroke will play a significant role.
The Department of Medicine for Older People and Stroke is the largest bed-holding Directorate within the Trust and has beds on both the Royal Liverpool Hospital and the Broadgreen Hospital site.In addition to this, the directorate provides a number of sub speciality services.

The successful candidate will assist with the management of the team’s in-patients in one of the Medical wards at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen sites.Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients is essential.
To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team in order to support and help to deliver first class patient care.
To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
Deputise from time to time for absent colleagues, and exceptionally to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances to ensure the safe running of the Department.
