An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, experienced nurse/ ODP to lead the anaesthetic and recovery team for the new Central Hampshire Elective Orthopaedic Hub, located on the Royal Hampshire County Hospital site in Winchester. The Hub is an exciting new venture supporting the delivery of elective orthopaedic care for patients across the region and is a partnership venture between Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic and experienced anaesthetic/recovery practitioner who is interested in delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care at what is an exciting time for the service. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate care is essential to our organisation.

The post holder will be directly accountable for the care of patients undergoing surgery within the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre, in relation to patient safety, staffing arrangements, the management of theatre lists, resource use (including supplies and equipment), maintaining professional and clinical standards, line management, staff compliance with policies and procedures, and supporting the teaching and induction of staff to provide an effective learning environment.

The post holder will also be expected to provide clinical leadership to staff within the HOC, and wider theatre team.

Excellent team working and communication skills are essential for this role along with a need to establish and maintain good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and wider services to work collaboratively and co-operatively to enhance quality of care.

The successful candidate will provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multidisciplinary team; they will also be expected to work as an expert clinical practitioner providing through themselves and their clinical area an excellent quality of care to patients and service users.
