Maritime Technical & Logistics Unit Support Officer

The UK Border is protected by the Maritime Command as part of National Operations Headquarters, with a fleet of vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels and smaller Coastal Patrol Vessels. The command is responsible for delivering the maritime enforcement capability and, in so doing, to prevent and disrupt organised crime from exploiting the UK’s territorial waters for illegal purposes including drugs trafficking, illegal immigration and modern slavery.All vessels carry out maritime enforcement, surveillance, security and interception duties in both UK and adjacent international waters.
Operational Support are responsible for supporting functions within Maritime Command which include:- Maritime Technical and Logistics Unit: ensuring all assets (Cutters, Coastal Patrol Vessel (CPV), Rigid-Hulled inflatable Boats (RHiBs) and Tactical Water Craft (TWC) are maintained, which includes fleet wide purchases, fleet improvements and major projects. The team provides up and down direction regarding fleet performance and development.
- Health and Safety : responsibility for health and safety, mentoring, education and compliance within an operational arena. Providing specialists to review accidents and investigations and assure compliance with Maritime regulations.
- Maritime Training: responsibility for delivering, maintaining, and organising all mandated training and development for the command.
- MTLU Procurement and Strategy link closely with the Senior Leadership Team to provide direction across the command about fleet performance and development. This team carry out the larger and fleet wide purchases, look at fleet improvements and the new build program.
- The Stores Team deliver routine stores and logistics. This includes all non-technical procurement and routine procurement from established sources. Goods ordered by the Vessel Management Team will be received and distributed by this team. Their duties also include assurance of processes and building management. The Stores Team will cover attendance in the store’s facility between office hours Monday to Friday.
- The Vessel Management Team plan and deliver the routine maintenance of all vessels, including the financial planning.

Please note that in order to apply for this role you are required to hold a full valid UK manual driving licence due to the nature of the role you will be required to visit vessels anywhere in the UK via either fleet or hired vehicles.
The current building location for this role is Fareham Murrills Industrial Estate .
Working Pattern
The team work predominantly office hours Monday to Friday.
There is no shift working requirement, and therefore no AHW/AHA allowance available for this role.

Key Responsibilities
