Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Tower Hamlets are developing. We want the very best services for our children and young people. That’s why we are looking for someone like you!

The provision of Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing services in Tower Hamlets takes place within fast changing landscape and the successful candidate will have experience and flexibility in delivering different approaches to assessment, treatment and professional interfaces.

This post is based with 9 sessions in our Complex Needs Team, which includes our early intervention psychosis pathway (EIS) and a clinical pathway for children and young people with other severe and enduring mental health difficulties (e.g. severe emotion dysregulation, complex developmental trauma etc.), requiring moderate to longer term interventions.

As these children and young people often struggle accessing services, the role requires a flexible working arrangement within working hours, including assertive outreach and enhanced, evidence based and outcome focused care packages jointly with other agencies.

You will also contribute to further developing of the complex needs team. We have strong links with Inpatient Services (through the NCEL CAMHS Provider Collaborative) and tri-borough crisis services as well as to the Tower Hamlets Adult Early Intervention and Early Detection Service and all other core teams in TH CAMHS.

It will be of particular value if you join the service with knowledge, clinical expertise and experience of working with children and young people with early signs of or florid psychosis as well as other complex mental health presentations such as severe emotion dysregulation and/or complex developmental trauma.

We are looking for: good communicators with energy, motivation and enthusiasm; the ability to work with individuals and families with complex difficulties in a potentially high-stress environment and to work effectively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency contexts; flexibility of approach; commitment to evidence-based practice; and the pursuit of the highest possible quality of service.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Our service is based in a modern open-plan office in the vibrant borough of Whitechapel and has adopted a hybrid clinical working model of direct face to face and remote working as appropriate. It embraces continual improvement and wellbeing of the staff as well as the management team, has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and works together with partner agencies toprovide the highest quality service to the population we serve.
