Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner - Specialist Mental Health Service
Hertfordshire
Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week | Permanent

Up to £35,000 DOE

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join a high-performing mental health service supporting individuals with complex needs, learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours of concern. This role will be central to reducing restrictive practices and enhancing patient outcomes across a specialist inpatient setting.

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will:

Lead the delivery and implementation of person-centred PBS strategies
Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments and create evidence-based support plans
Deliver PBS training to staff and promote a culture of positive, proactive care
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient wellbeing
Monitor the impact of interventions and contribute to continuous service development

What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with a relevant degree (e.g. Psychology, ABA, Autism Studies)
Practical experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or autism
Skilled in developing PBS plans, risk management, and incident debriefing
Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act, safeguarding, and legal frameworks
