An exciting opportunity has arisen within our maternity service for a Band 6 Rainbow Midwife working in the Antenatal Clinic. You will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team by providing this high-quality service to previously bereaved families.
Main duties of the job- The post holder will have a high level of expert knowledge and skills and be provided with relevant specialist training where required, which they will use to manage, develop and lead care for pregnant women.
- Provide direct patient care and have detailed clinical knowledge of the specialist area.
- To support and directly care for women during the rainbow clinic, co-ordinate and organise the rainbow clinics with the antenatal service by providing physical, emotional and holistic support.
- To work closely with women and their families to plan and coordinate their care based on their individual needs. They will provide a link between the maternity service and other services involved in the pregnancy care, such as the bereavement midwives, radiology team, and screening team as well as external teams such as DadMatters and the Maternity Voices Partnership.
- Assist the band 7 Antenatal Clinic Team Lead to ensure that high standards of quality care are delivered and maintained for women under the rainbow pathway.[ ]
- To work with and support the pre-term midwife, such as covering clinics on annual leave or supporting with joint working.
- To promote the use of quality improvement methods by frontline staff in order to deliver measurable improvements in patient care. To link with the audit midwives, and undertake clinical audit when required, to ensure high standards of care are being upheld.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registered Midwife
- Evidence of CPD
- Willingness to undertake courses if successful
- Bereavement ambassador training
- Experience caring for bereaved or rainbow women/families
Experience
Essential criteria- Band 6 Midwife
- Completed preceptorship
- Have an awareness of current & local drivers in relation to pregnancy loss and rainbow pathways
- Antenatal Clinic experience
- MDT working
