This vacancy is for Registered Nurses with full NMC registration in the UK. If you are an internationally trained nurse that has not passed their OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) you will not be considered for this role and will be automatically rejected, so please do not apply.

Main duties of the job

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, King’s Lynn is a friendly and welcoming general hospital providing emergency care for West and North Norfolk along with parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. West Norfolk offers an unsurpassed quality of life outside work.

It’s a superb area for families with reasonable house prices, good education facilities and a low crime rate.

Our emergency department additionally has a clinical decision unit and a 24 hour stay area and we have a dedicated paediatric care area. We have exciting innovative developments in our emergency service, and we support training and education for our multi-professional workforce.

We are looking for enthusiastic registered adult nurses and paramedics who enjoy working in an ever evolving fast paced environment to join our team. We support training and education and encourage those with interest or experience in emergency care to apply.

Applicants must have Emergency Department experience worked on a regular basis.

We expect our Healthcare Professionals to be compassionate and communicative to our patients and their families in the challenges of the emergency setting, and to contribute to developing our service and emergency care pathways.

Person specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with the NMC or working towards and due to qualify in the next six months
  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching and Assessing qualification
  • Undertaken mentorship training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience of looking after patients in a healthcare environment
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant Post-Registration clinical experience
  • Clinical Governance experience
  • Risk Management experience

Skills, abilities, and knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Confident and calm attitude with an ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use basic IT skills
