Regional General Manager

We are looking for an exceptional Regional General Manager to lead our Midlands operations within the I&C Division. Reporting to the Area Business Director, you’ll take full P&L responsibility, driving commercial performance, operational excellence, and safety standards across the region.You’ll lead a high-performing team, grow SME sales, support key accounts, and shape the region’s future.
You’ll bring proven senior leadership experience, commercial acumen, and a track record of delivering results—ideally within logistics, business services, or a similar environment.

Requirements
Your core responsibilities- Provide leadership across all regional sites, building a high-performing management team. Inspire collaboration, drive accountability, and ensure individual and team performance aligns with business goals.
- Shape and execute the Midlands growth strategy through effective planning, execution, and performance evaluation. Represent Biffa externally, building relationships with key stakeholders to elevate the brand.
- Partner with sales teams to drive new and existing business, creating a strong platform for sustainable growth within the region.
- Oversee financial and operational performance, ensuring profitability, efficiency, and outstanding customer service. Manage assets, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs to meet or exceed business targets.
- Own health and safety standards across the region, ensuring full compliance with company policies and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth, develop and execute regional strategies, and deliver measurable business results. Strong financial and analytical skills with effective use of KPIs.
- Broad general management experience across commercial, operational, and people functions—ideally in labour-intensive, multi-shift, and unionised environments.
- Solid understanding and practical experience in health and safety management, with a strong track record of ensuring compliance and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Confident, engaging communicator with experience building relationships with customers, stakeholders, and teams. Skilled in change management and transformation leadership across diverse sectors.
- Degree-educated (or equivalent senior-level experience), entrepreneurial and results-driven, with a Transport CPC being desirable.
