Pre-Treatment Band 7 Therapy Radiographer- Sutton Site -12 month fixed term

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, caring and highly motivated therapy radiographer to work as a Band 7 Team Leader within the Pre-treatment team.
The role will include working in all key areas of the Pre-treatment services, which include Mould room, a Siemens Confidence CT scanner, Cannulation and Virtual simulation (Raystation) – much of which is radiographer led. The department has 6 Elekta Linear accelerators, Cyberknife, Elekta MR Linac and 1 Radixact with another Radixact being installed next year.Digital patient pathways are managed using the Mosaiq Smart Clinic software throughout the department.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and will have exemplary communication and patient care skills along with a pre-treatment technical background. In addition, this role requires someone who is flexible and keen to learn as the role includes developing our multimodality pathways for enhanced planning in a quality driven environment.
This role will give you the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of radiotherapy development in a forward thinking and technically advance department for the benefit of your patients.- 1. When they are working as a Senior I clinical practitioner they will be responsible for the radiotherapy processes at and the operational management of a specialist highly complex radiotherapy work base, which may be a treatment unit, a CT scanner, or a treatment preparation area. They will supervise the immediate radiographic team including students, aides and visitors on a rotational basis, ensuring that the practise of all results in the radiotherapy processes at their work base being performed accurately as prescribed.
- 2. The post-holder will liaise with medical, physics, nursing, clerical and support staff within the department and throughout the institution. The key working relationships will be with superintendent radiographers.

Be competent to analyse and approve images following designated training and adhering to protocols.
- 2 Responsible for the accurate preparation, planning and delivery of treatment by self and by all members of the immediate team.
- 3 Set high standards of technical expertise, acting as role model to junior staff members. To be responsible for maintaining professional standards of self and other team members.
- 4 Responsible for the training of team members in the operation of all equipment safely and efficiently as per manufacturers’ instructions, including local guidelines, under the guidance of superintendent radiographers.
- 5 Meet the regulatory responsibilities defined for an operator as delegated by the Trust under the IR(ME)R regulations. With appropriate experience may also be defined as a practitioner for concomitant exposures.
- 6 Make evidence based decisions within the prescribed scope of practice. Analysis and approval of planning and treatment verification images, following designated training and adhering to work instructions and protocols.
