A Specialist Deep Cleaning Team Member is responsible for performing intensive cleaning tasks that go beyond regular cleaning routines, focusing on thoroughly removing dirt, dust, grime, and bacteria from hard-to-reach areas and surfaces within a building, often requiring specialized equipment and techniques to achieve a high level of cleanliness; essentially, they deep clean specific areas that need extra attention, like carpets, upholstery, high ceilings, or appliances, as part of a dedicated team
You will provide a comprehensive specialist deep cleaning service to clinical and non-clinical areas for the Hotel Services Department across the Trust sites as and when required. Working closely with department staff to ensure high quality, patient/client focused service provision to ensure a safe environment in patient areas and staff areas
This may require working outside of normal core time hours to meet the service demands.
Main duties of the job- Using HPV equipment
- Washing and Drying of walls and ceilings
- Maintenance of hard floor surfaces – buffing and spray cleaning, scrubbing, stripping, resealing and polishing with appropriate machines
- Deep cleaning of soft floor coverings
- High Level cleaning with appropriate equipment
- Initial cleaning of areas, following building or engineering works
- Preparation of new floor surfaces
- Disinfection of areas after discharge of infectious patients (MRSA, Norwalk etc)
- When appropriate assist in the cleaning up of bodily fluids
- Deep cleaning of kitchen areas at ward level including washing walls, degreasing cleaning ceilings, cooker hoods and vents, wet scrubbing/drying floor etc
- Cleaning of Hydrotherapy pool after draining as and when required
- Cleaning of Theatres after maintenance
- Removal of dust, dirt and debris from surfaces such as floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures and fittings, doors, ledges, glass and sanitary fittings by appropriate specified methods. (ie colour-coded/mopping units/vacuum cleaners)
- Cleaning blinds and internal glass and checking and changing curtains as required.
- Cleaning of any spillage
- Removal and hanging of curtains and replacing of hooks and gliders as and when required at ward level
- Observing Health and Safety regulations, Policies and Procedures of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
- Attending mandatory and essential training and periodic updates.
- Cleaning of spillages/floods

Cleaning Experience
Essential criteria- Full Uk manual driving licence
- Experience of working in a team
- Experience in cleaning
- Experience in cleaning within a healthcare setting
