Material Buyer

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

Previous experience at a joinery business is the key. A background at a reputable main contractor is not necessary. Requirement is urgent so candidates who can start immediately or in the near future would be ideal.

Responsibilities for Material Buyer:

• Be able to investigate new potential suppliers to strengthen their supply chain.
• Ideally good knowledge of curtain wall, doors and building materials.
• Sourcing, negotiating purchasing materials.
• Understanding of project contractual requirements and ensure these are relayed to suppliers and sub-contractors as required.

Requirements for Material Buyer:

• Within a 1-hour commute of the Boreham Wood office.
• Experience working as a buyer at a joinery or construction-based business.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
