Job Description
You will head up the procurement function and provide the strategic lead for procurement across the organisation. Leading a small, although highly effective, team, activities will range from managing the coordination of procurement and contract management activities, liaising with the individual business areas to provide sound procurement advice.
- Providing strategic procurement advice across all levels and departments of the organisation to inform decision making
- Ensuring the procurement activity is compliant in relation to UK procurement law (Procurement Act 2015) and represents best practice
- You will be a strong stakeholder manager with commercial awareness and strong negotiating skills
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
- Lead, develop and motivate the procurement team
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met
- Work closely with other departments to forecast future supply needs
- Continually identify opportunities to improve procurement processes
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
The Successful Applicant
A successful Procurement Manager should have:
- A Procurement Industry related Professional Qualification (MCIPS, CIPS, Logistics and supply chain MSc or equivalent similar) or working experience towards
- Proven experience in a similar role within the Not For Profit / Public Sector and you must have full knowledge of Procurement Act 2015
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to develop relationships with suppliers
- A good understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
- An annual salary range up to c £51,000 + excellent benefits
