We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter and Decorator to join our team at Retirement Villages working across 3 of our villages in the locations of : Henley, Berkshire, Cranleigh, Surrey, and West Sussex. Work Van will be provided with tools. Paying up to £33,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the facilities through painting, decorating, and general maintenance work. This role is crucial in ensuring a comfortable and pleasant living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Painting and Decorating:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, filling holes and cracks, and priming.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
  • Hang wallpaper, apply textures, and perform other decorative techniques.

Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine inspections of interior and exterior surfaces to identify necessary repairs or enhancements.
  • Perform minor repairs such as patching plaster, replacing damaged sections of wallpaper, and touching up paint.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff on larger renovation projects.

Customer Service:

  • Interact respectfully and courteously with residents, addressing their concerns and requests related to painting and decorating.
  • Schedule and coordinate painting and decorating activities to minimize disruption to residents.

Health and Safety:

  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Properly handle and store painting and decorating materials and tools.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time spent, materials used, and any issues encountered.
  • Report any significant maintenance issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a painter and decorator, preferably in a residential or retirement village setting.
  • Proficiency with various painting techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of different types of paint and finishes, as well as wallpaper application.
  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for aesthetics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks.
