The post holder will coordinate and provide product development support to the Product Engineering team to support the Digital Services and wider organisation with the development and implementation of standard change methodologies by working within the Product Engineering team and other digital team members to ensure that the right training, frameworks, documentation and support is in place in order to allow for these methodologies to be effectively deployed.

The post holder will also be required to follow agreed methodologies to ensure a sound system of governance is in place at every level of change, this will include supporting the preparation of regular reports on Product Engineering delivery and the maintenance of relevant documentation.

This post holder will be required to ensure effective communication is maintained to ensure understanding of the responsibilities, needs and priorities of the organisation and the potential impact on the Digital Services Division.

The post holder will provide support to projects within Digital Services and across the Trust as assigned.
  1. Maintain the Product Engineering, project and programme change management methodology and reporting and management systems.
  2. Support the introduction of new change management methodologies, reports, and systems across Digital and the stakeholder network under the direction of the Head of Product Engineering and Product Specialist and Delivery Lead.
  3. Create regular reports on digital change activities as required, ensuring the information is readily available and kept up to date.
  4. Provide support in managing all aspects of digital change administration within Product Engineering and wider Digital Services.
  5. Provide support to digital teams in service change and delivery.
  6. Support the implementation of new and improved service delivery methodologies and modernisation.
  7. To be a resource in specific service development projects across Digital.
  8. Communicate information with a wide range of stakeholders.
  9. Support the monitoring the delivery of activity, raising concerns in a timely manner
  10. To perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time across the Trust to ensure that the Trust objectives are delivered.
  11. Support Product Engineering in the planning of any service development including change within the division/directorate as appropriate.
  12. Responsible for prioritising own work.
  13. Using an iterative, flexible approach to delivery
  14. Participating in scrum meetings and product sprints

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.

Implementing best practice
  1. Creating and delivering product visions, strategies and roadmaps, focusing on outcomes, not solutions
  2. Understanding of user needs and defining the minimum viable product to deliver those needs using your passion for technology
  3. Gathering opinions from multiple stakeholders and making confident, educated decisions on priorities
  4. Collecting Voice of Customer and being highly user focussed and identify key needs and pain points
  5. Articulate and understand the value of products, translating the product vision into deliverable goals.
  6. Working with highly skilled, multi-disciplined teams
  7. Dealing with conflict resolution and the ability to motivate a team, especially when under pressure.
  8. Experience in working in an agile environment
  9. Knowledge of scrum and agile software development methodology
  10. Background of product management principles and approaches
  11. Positive and optimistic outlook, looking for solutions and thinking outside the box
  12. Ability to prioritise effectively
  13. An understanding of design quality standards and user centred design principles
  14. Strong communication skills, understanding of the audiences and being able to verbalise and present the product/vision to a wide range of stakeholders across varying seniority levels
