SEN Teaching Assistant Vacancy – Tower Hamlets
We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, dynamic Teaching Assistants who are looking for work in our schools based in Tower Hamlets starting in the Summer Term.
Location – Tower Hamlets
Contract – Full time, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)
Start date – Summer term
Pay – £80 - £100 a day (PAYE)
Hours - 8.30am – 3.30pm
About the role:
We are looking for passionate Teaching Assistants who are dedicated to supporting, inspiring and empowering to become increasingly independent learners.
All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Main Areas of Responsibility
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities include:
- To supervise and provide support for identified students, in 1:1, group or whole class situations, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
- To assist in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies, working with the teacher to ensure the provision supports each identified student’s learning needs.
- To assist in evaluating identified students’ progress through agreed assessment activities.
- To provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ achievement, progress and needs.
- To lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Educated to GCSE Level standard or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of pupils with social and emotional difficulties that may impact upon their behaviour
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing
- Some knowledge of some of the social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
