Financial Accountant

Day-to-day of the role:

• Maintain the Fixed Asset register, including monthly depreciation journals.
• Manage the Capex budget.
• Maintain and process monthly journals for provisions, accruals, and prepayments.
• Manage petty cash and approval of Monthly Management Accounts.
• Conduct month-end close down and reconciliations on Sage.
• Maintain detailed Management Accounts reports for actual performance and forecasts & budgets.
• Manage forecasting and budget processes, managing costs, and explaining variances.
• Perform monthly checks and reconciliations.
• Handle quarterly returns and reconciliations on Sage, including submission to HMRC.
• Conduct revenue reconciliation to VAT return monthly for auditors.
• Prepare for and assist with the annual audit, managing the audit process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Complete command of all aspects of financial and cost accounting disciplines.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Stock Control, Forex, and Tax.
• Excellent attention to detail, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective time management and ability to work proactively as a self-starter.
• 3-5 years of cost and financial accounting experience in a Wholesale environment.
• Experience in budget preparation and both management and financial reporting.
