We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their Adults Services team in Elmbridge. About the Role This Senior Social Worker role is part of the Duty team and will provide cover during the recruitment process for a permanent position. Working closely with the Assistant Team Manager and Duty Supervisor, you will screen contacts, prioritise cases, determine next steps, and allocate tasks to team members.You will also carry a small caseload of complex cases and handle Duty tasks, including safeguarding, assessments of need, and Mental Capacity Assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a complex caseload with professionalism and independence.
- Demonstrate confident and effective decision-making, balancing risk and accountability.
- Employ a range of interventions, promoting independence, ensuring safety, and taking preventative action.
- Conduct safeguarding enquiries and assessments under the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
- Record clear and analytical judgements to support effective case management.
- Support individuals using a strength-based approach, enabling them to live as independently as possible with more choice and control.
- Substantial post-qualification experience as a Social Worker.
- In-depth knowledge of The Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act.
- Proven experience in safeguarding and managing complex cases.
- Strong ability to assess social care needs and provide direct interventions for challenging cases.
- Excellent judgement, organisational skills, and the ability to balance rights and risks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive and confident approach to decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide professional guidance when needed.
