Join our friendly team of Cleanliness Standards Auditors at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

Your role will include daily audits of all areas of the hospital, feeding your results back to our Cleaning team and other important stakeholders.

You'll provide a vital service, helping to ensure that high standards of hospital cleanliness are maintained, improving patient safety.

Main duties of the job

The Cleanliness Standards Auditor monitors the performance of cleanliness standards in all areas of the hospital; this is based on National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021 (NSHC 2021) and under the direction of the Audit Manager. They’ll support the Audit Manager with quality assurance, improvement processes, and strengthen stakeholder relationships.

In line with the NSHC 2021, the monitoring of cleaning standards will include cleaning responsibilities within the Cleaning Services, Nursing Teams and Estates Teams.

The role may also include the monitoring of catering food hygiene standards will include retail catering cleaning responsibilities, in line with our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Manual.

The role requires excellent communication skills, basic computer literacy, being comfortable with learning how to use the audit software, and able to adapt workload to unplanned changes.

Essential criteria
  • General education to GCSE level or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Cleaning standards qualification BICS or NVQ Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Competently use computers, Office software (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook), Teams
Desirable criteria
  • Previous healthcare experience in cleaning management
  • Experience of auditing/monitoring standards
  • Experience of using C4C (cloud-based) system, or electronic cleaning audit tool
