Financial Accountant

The role will provide subject matter expertise on accounting standards and their application across the business.

You must be immediately available and ready to start asap. This is a full time role based on site at our Manchester HQ.

• Work alongside the Group and Brand finance teams to produce the statutory consolidated Group results and annual report & accounts for the Group’s FY25 year end. This will involve the preparation of the statutory consolidation model, together with supporting working files for accounts disclosures
• Review balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Oversight of the year end audit process and provision of information to external auditors in accordance with year end audit timetable
• Preparation of year end subsidiary accounts
• Assist with the preparation of technical accounting papers and workings to support key judgements and estimates
• Work alongside internal teams to ensure financial processes are robust, efficient and operate effectively
• Provide ad hoc guidance to support the wider business.

• Experience of preparing an IFRS compliant consolidation model on a statutory accounting basis, together with the supporting working files necessary to support the publication of Plc year end consolidated statutory accounts
• Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and preparation of statutory accounts and supporting disclosures in line with those standards
• Experience of completing or reviewing complex balance sheet reconciliations, particularly inventory and debtors
• Experience of oversight of the audit process and co-ordinating the wider finance teams and business owners to deliver information to the auditors in line with agreed timetable
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence a range of stakeholders
• Ability to work as part of a team and to train/support other team members
• Strong working knowledge of data manipulation using Excel including Vlookups and pivot tables

• ACA /ACCA fully qualified accountant, with proven post qualification experience
• Previous experience in financial control or a financial accounting environment
• Experience of producing or auditing statutory accounts ideally for a Plc
• Balance sheet control account reconciliation experience
• Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of building relationships with colleagues and dealing with external auditors
• Experience of managing multiple tasks within a fast paced environment, and managing own workload to meet deadlines
• Strong excel skills with the ability to manage large quantities of data
