You will join us on a permanent basis with a salary of £32,178 to £49,725 per annum plus excellent benefits! (The allowance for Assistant Curriculum Leader role is £3370 per annum)
The English Department is well-established and very successful. We offer English Literature, English Language, English Language and Literature courses at A Level (Eduqas) and GCSE re-sit classes in English Language (AQA). English is taught within a cluster including Geography and Earth Science, a cluster who are a highly effective and vibrant team and work together on all aspects of teaching and learning.
The English team are all involved in providing a wide range of extra and super-curricular activities to extend students' appreciation of English as a subject and preparation for further study and careers. There is a book club, English Extension group and regular trips to the theatre, the MMU Poetry Library and creative writing workshops.We also run university trips to raise aspirations for students. More widely, staff regularly support the Excellence & Widening Participation programme at Holy Cross College which aims to provide young people with opportunities to progress onto highly competitive courses at university and beyond.
The successful candidate will join a highly effective team which works together on all aspects of teaching and learning.
