Shevington High School is a successful and popular 11-16 community school seeking to appoint a Teacher of Computing and Business, part time, 4 days per week. The post offers a fantastic opportunity for an NQT or an experienced teacher.
The successful candidate will work within our highly successful Computing Department. This area of school is increasingly popular at Shevington High School with a growing number of students selecting I-media as an option at KS4. We have offered GCSE Computer Science in the past and hope to be able to offer this again.We would also like to offer a Business course at KS4, and are excited to find a teacher who would be able to support us with this venture. It is essential that the successful candidate has a wide knowledge and experience in teaching Computing at KS4 and KS3 and the skills to support with the introduction of a business course.
All the lessons in Computing and I-media are fully planned and resourced with a comprehensive scheme of work, lesson slides which can be adapted for specific classes and lesson resources such as knowledge organisers. The successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to develop their teaching practice as we continue to work collaboratively to meet the needs of all our learners.
This is an exciting time for the successful candidate to join Shevington High School. The Computing department is located in a suite of classrooms where the team can work collaboratively. Both Computing rooms are well resourced and we have an ICT support team to ensure the smooth running of all our computing equipment.The successful candidate would be expected to play a vital role in providing opportunities for our learners to develop their knowledge and passion for Computing. This will include planning and delivering high quality lessons, facilitating and supporting trips and taking advantage of extra-curricular opportunities that both support and enrich the lives of our students here at Shevington.
The school non-negotiables have been at the forefront of our development in recent years. All Computing lessons have fully implemented each of the elements and we would expect the successful candidate to show a knowledge of these in their interview lesson as well relevant pedagogical understanding in their interview.
