Property Maintenance Manager
Your new company
A national plc in the transport industry is looking for an experienced facilities / property manager to support on an initial fixed-term basis with the reactive and remedial work required across its portfolio of properties / depots in the Yorkshire region.
Your new role
The Property Maintenance Manager is responsible for the efficient management and delivery of all building maintenance services across the estate. This includes both planned and reactive maintenance, compliance with health and safety standards, contractor and budget management, and support for long-term asset improvement.
- Lead and manage maintenance providers and contractors to support operational needs across all sites.
- Complete remedial work as identified by the existing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
- Develop and manage procurement and contract arrangements for reactive works, utilising the existing supply chain while expanding contractors and the services.
- Ensure compliance with all property-related legislation including fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and other statutory requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, plant, and equipment, ensuring timely servicing and documentation.
- Proven experience in property maintenance or facilities management within a multi-site environment.
- Be able to demonstrate key stakeholder management in previous positions
- Be able to demonstrate supply chain management
- Technical background in building services, engineering, or construction (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC).
- IOSH or NEBOSH certification (desirable).
- Experience managing contractors, maintenance teams, and budgets.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation, building compliance, and best practice in estate management.
- Experience of CDM Regulations and relevant risk management procedures (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence
What you'll get in return
The role is to start immediately. However, our client would wait for the right candidate to become available. It is on a rolling 6-month basis initially, but likely a 12-month contract to then be reviewed which could lead to permanent opportunities, it is paying a competitive hourly rate.
