HGV Class 1 Driver

Statom Group Ltd. is a renowned provider of civil engineering services, specialising in Remediation, Groundwork, and Structures. We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team.

In this important role, you will be responsible for the transportation of specialized equipment and materials to various job sites while ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and company policies. Your expertise in driving HGV Class 1 vehicles will be essential in supporting our operations and ensuring timely project deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles to transport materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
• Complete all necessary documentation, including delivery logs and checklists.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies while driving and during all operations.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment, ensuring proper securing for safe transport.
• Communicate effectively with site managers and dispatch regarding schedules, delays, and site requirements.
• Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or accidents promptly to management.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid, clean HGV Class 1 license (Category C+E).
• Minimum of 2 years experience as an HGV Class 1 driver, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and conduct thorough vehicle inspections.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the job, including loading and unloading.
• CPC Certificate Driver Qualification Card (DQC) is required.
