Are you an excellent leader with team management experience looking to make a difference?
We are currently seeking a Deputy Team Manager to join our Talking Therapies service. You will work with the Team Managers and clinical leadership team to ensure the successful and effective day to day management of the Service providing a responsive, high-quality service to patients with common mental health problems.
As a Deputy Team Manager, you will join a varied role which will encompass a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the team and ensuring effective service delivery. You will be responsible for managing both clinical and non-clinical staff across the service, providing guidance, support and mentorship to staff members.
Main duties of the job
Some of the responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee recruitment and make significant contribution to the development of new roles and local policies and procedures.
- Management of staff across the service, working collaboratively with their clinical supervisor and the senior management team to ensure that staff meet the requirements of their role. This will include line management, utilising HR policies and procedures as required and supporting professional development.
- Work closely with team members and engage with external agencies, Oxford Health services and other organisations to ensure a collaborative approach to provide mental health support to patients.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the service, implementing improvement where necessary to enhance patient outcomes.

Knowledge
Essential criteria- Able to demonstrate leadership skills and delegate appropriately.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic IT skills using MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Outlook
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to a degree level or equivalent professional qualification or relevant management experience.
- Evidence of continual professional development.
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of managing staff including performance management.
- Recruitment experience.
- Experience of implementing change effectively.
- Experience of working within or managing a mental health service.
Personal qualities
Essential criteria- Evidence of team working but also able to work independently.
- Able to demonstrate resilience.
Contractual requirements
Essential criteria- Ability to travel between sites and to regional meetings
