We are hiring for a Assistant Accountant to join our Record to Report Finance team. This role will be based at our The Merlin Hub - Basingstoke office and reports into the Senior Accountant - R2R on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role for those looking for more flexibility in their working week.
You will be responsible for preparing monthly journals in collaboration with key business partners, ensuring the appropriate level of support. You will adhere to the Finance hub timetable, delivering accurate and timely month-end reporting across international legal entities.The role involves preparing month-end analysis and commentary for management reporting, as well as completing balance sheet reconciliations to facilitate reviews with Finance hub managers and business partners.
You will also maintain financial controls in accordance with group policies and procedures, and contribute to the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly flash reports following the centralised reporting strategy.
Other responsibilities include preparing statutory financial statements, assisting with information requests for tax return completion, supporting indirect tax, local tax, and ad hoc statistical reporting, and liaising with internal and external audit teams.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working in a shared services role preferably within a similar operating model and size of organisation
- Part-qualified in early stages of ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with considerable experience within a finance role
- Experience of month end close process
- Experience of process improvements and standardising finance processes
- Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
- Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment
