The Occupational Therapy role provides an opportunity to develop skills in working across a variety of Acute and community settings. The job role requires post holders to rotate every six months. The rotations are across: The Acute Inpatient Team The Inpatient team at North Devon District Hospital offer rotations within Medical and Surgical (including Trauma and Orthopaedics).
This will give an opportunity to work with an integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who have a forward-thinking approach to rehabilitation and health care. The rotation offers opportunities to gain wide experience working in different settings including opportunity to work across Acute and community in the Orthopaedic supported discharge team.
Neuro Rehab Team The Neuro Rehab Team work across in-patient, community and out patient settings to provide specialist, evidence-based Neuro rehab to patients following stroke or other neurological diagnosis. Whilst on rotation within the service you will work with an innovative and dynamic team who continuously review models of delivery to provide services that optimise rehab opportunities for our patients.
Community Team The Community Service has been central to the redesign of pathways following the pandemic. The team form a vital link between Primary Care and Secondary Care, NHS Social Services and Voluntary Sector. On this rotation you will learn to address the holistic needs of the patient in their home environment and the importance of integration within wider services.

You will need to demonstrate sound core Occupational Therapy skills, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards team working. If you have been qualified for a while and are looking to broaden your experience. Working Pattern: Full time and part time opportunities. Monday to Friday, additional weekend duties or 7 day rolling patterns. Interview Date: To be confirmed Pay - The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024.

If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings.
