The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will play a critical role in the financial leadership of the company. This role is responsible for driving the strategic financial planning process, leading budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts, and providing actionable insights to the executive team.

Additionally, the role will assist in financial control activities at the corporate level, ensuring the company’s financial health, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning.

The Group is private equity backed and has ambitious growth plans, requiring robust financial planning and reporting support to deliver clear insight to the business and investors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Develop long-term financial models to support strategic decision-making and evaluate potential business opportunities.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis and projections.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the financial planning and analysis processes, including automation and standardisation of reporting.

Financial Strategy & Planning:

  • Lead the development and execution of the head office’s financial strategy in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support long-term growth and profitability.
  • Lead financial analysis for major projects, capital investments, and other strategic initiatives.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and board presentations.
  • Maintain and enforce robust financial controls and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance requirements.

Financial Operations Management:

  • Manage consolidated cash flow, working capital, and financial risks to ensure the company’s liquidity and financial stability.
  • Engage with the wider team on financial process design, implementing automation and system improvements where necessary.
  • Support due diligence and financial integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with business unit leaders to develop financial plans and forecasts that align with business objectives.
  • Work closely with private equity investors and other key stakeholders to support company initiatives.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and development opportunities for team members.
  • Collaborate with regional and divisional finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with 3 years in a senior finance role.
  • Extensive experience in corporate finance, financial planning, and analysis, preferably within a head office environment.
  • Experience using Prophix or similar Budgeting, Planning & Reporting tool.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA).
  • Top 10 Practice background preferred.
  • Understanding of Services and Technology businesses.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing and empowering finance teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership.
