37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 5-6 months
City: MATLOCK
Provide a specialist administrative and operational service to social care professionals in Children’s Services, coordinating and facilitating the effective operation of the team, monitoring performance, ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance and promoting service improvement.Build effective relationships with service users and families acting as first point of contact for referrals in and out of the service, sharing information and joint working with internal stakeholders, external agencies and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Take an active role in delivering successful outcomes for children and families, including the planning and coordination of a range of activities to support the team’s performance and meet objectives, targets and timescales.Be an expert administrator providing an efficient and courteous service to young people and wider stakeholders continually monitoring and reviewing administrative support systems and processes to improve service delivery.
Work flexibly across a broad range of functions in Children’s Services to provide specialist business support for a range of staff groups, as required.
Monitor financial and budgetary targets, process financial transactions and information and provide complex financial reports ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures.
Provide a high level of technical support and expertise in order to utilise and maximise ICT systems and technologies ensuring that the most efficient administrative processes and systems are in place.
Provide expert advice and guidance on policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements relevant to the service area and contribute to the assessment of service provision and the identification and implementation of service improvements.
Responsible for the provision and maintenance of accurate records and information management including confidentiality, compliance with the Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulation and Information Governance.Undertake research and project work under the direction of the Business Services Manager.
Qualifications:
NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
Knowledge:
Knowledge of data protection legislation, GDPR and Information GovernanceUnderstanding of data management systems with the ability to interpret, analyse and present data
Experience:
Significant experience in using IT in an office environment including Microsoft packages and non-standard software packagesBudget monitoring at an appropriate level for the role
Working in a front-line service/customer focused environment
Planning, organising and coordinating team activities
Liaising with service users and families under stress who may present challenging behaviour, identifying need and prioritising responses
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent organisational and communication skills, written, oral and listening, with the ability to use empathy and understandingAbility to gain a detailed knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, administrative practices and processes and an understanding of regulatory and legislative requirements
Ability to carry out research and undertake project work
Ability to deal with people at all levels confidently, sensitively and diplomatically
