Senior Civil Engineering Technician
Location: Braintree, EssexSalary: Up to £50,000 – Dependent on Experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
A multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Braintree, Essex is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to contribute to the delivery of drainage, external works, and highway design packages as part of their civil engineering services.
The company employs around 130 staff, with 70 based in the Braintree office, including a civils team comprising four engineers.
The Role
As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will support the delivery of civil engineering services across a variety of projects, including residential, educational, and healthcare developments. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise in Civil 3D modelling, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring all designs meet the relevant standards and regulations.You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Assist in the design, analysis, and development of civil engineering elements for a range of projects including highways, drainage systems, infrastructure, earthworks, and site layouts, with support from senior management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to relevant local authority regulations, planning requirements, and industry standards for drainage, highways, and structural integrity.
- Health, Safety and Sustainability: Ensure compliance with the CDM Regulations 2015.
- Quality Assurance: Support the delivery of high-quality engineering designs and outputs, ensuring alignment with both internal and external quality standards.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and 3D modelling.
- Relevant degree or apprenticeship, along with practical experience in the field.
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).
