Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 per annum
Reports to: Senior Health Community Engagement Manager (Talk Cancer)
Department: Policy, Information and Communications
Location: Stratford w/ high-flex (1-2 days per week in the office). We are open to discussing further flexible working for the successful candidate.
Employment type: Permanent

Working hours: 35 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Health Community Engagement Officer. We need you to support the day-to-day planning, delivery and development of the Talk Cancer training programme and the Cancer Awareness Roadshow activity - working with internal stakeholders and an external agency to ensure seamless delivery of our activities.

What will I be doing?
  • Organising the logistics of the Talk Cancer workshops, maintaining the training diary and activity logs as well as preparing information for trainees
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for Talk Cancer's clients during the workshop planning process
  • Inputting and maintaining evaluation data for the Talk Cancer and Roadshow teams - creating reports and evaluation summaries where required
  • Acting as a moderator for Talk Cancer online workshops and the Talk Cancer Facebook group
  • Working with the Roadshow Manager and Senior Officer to coordinate the logistics for the Cancer Awareness Roadshow activity, ensuring effective administration of resource to cover all activities, staff visits and staff volunteering activities
  • Monitoring the team email inboxes, triaging queries from internal and external stakeholders and resolving problems where possible
  • Delivering team finance support, including raising purchase orders, processing payments and support with invoicing
  • Monitoring resource and publication usage across the two teams - ensuring that stock levels and procurement/courier processes are appropriately managed.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build and maintain good working relationships
  • Solution-focussed, with a good eye for spotting opportunities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Initiative to review processes and activity, with the confidence to proactively offer own insight and suggestions
  • Comfortable with basic data handling, analysis and reporting, and a good understanding of data protection
  • Relevant experience of working with various digital platforms and MS Office applications.
