Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experiencd Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our clients expanding team for a major project in Amsterdam. The successful candidates will support the mechanical delivery aspects of the project, working closely with the wider project team to ensure successful execution.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mechanical design reviews, identifying gaps, deviations, or contradictions in specifications and IFC drawings
- Generate detailed RFI’s to resolve design ambiguities or potential issues
- Validate equipment sizing (e.g., ductwork, pipework), providing recommendations when necessary
- Oversee the submittal approvals process, track procurement and delivery of mechanical equipment, and complete verification once delivered
- Perform system walk-downs to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and management systems
- Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines and the project BIM team
- Provide technical advice and guidance to sub-contracted staff throughout the project
- Ensure sub-contractor compliance with site and project requirements, including health & safety standards
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities
- Work with the project team to sequence the installation of mechanical systems efficiently and safely
- Apply troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve problems
- Manage document control to keep all logs and records up to date
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Degree in Mechanical Engineering). Trade qualifications are an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the mechanical and electrical contracting sector
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems in data center environments
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with contractors on-site
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
