This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge security projects across UK Government sites, primarily in the Reading region, delivering a professional, efficient, and cost-effective service to our clients. Bespoke system training will be provided to equip you with the tools you need to succeed in this highly specialised field.
As a Licensing, Condition, and Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring security systems comply with regulations and meet industry standards. You will serve as the interface between SSG and external stakeholders, providing expert guidance and representing the organisation at high-level meetings.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all electronic security systems adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and licensing requirements, particularly within the “Nuclear” domain.Stay updated on legislative changes and industry best practices, including JSPs, licensing, and compliance guidelines.
Site Assessments and Audits:
Conduct detailed site assessments to evaluate compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing corrective actions where necessary.Perform regular audits of projects to identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements.
Documentation and Reporting:
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including compliance measures, licensing approvals, and condition assessments.Provide timely and detailed reports for internal teams and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Liaise with internal teams, clients, and external regulators to ensure all projects meet licensing and regulatory requirements.Advise project teams on licensing and regulatory needs, including those for national infrastructure sites.
IT Skills and Tools: Utilise Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) effectively to manage documentation and reporting.Additional Support: Provide ad hoc assistance to the Defence Nuclear Organisation Operations Team and the wider SSG as needed.
Location and Travel Requirements
Work is primarily based at SSG customer sites in the Reading geographic region. You will be required to travel across the region to multiple Governmental and Military sites. You may be provided with a non-liveried company vehicle to work in your region and with personal use (eligible for taxable benefit).Due to operational needs, there will be occasions where detached duty is required. This may involve staying overnight at locations that are an unsuitable distance from your home address.
Allowances
Where applicable, allowances are provided, including:
Market Skills Allowance: £1800 per year in addition to base salary
Travel Time (for travel outside of core hours)Recall-to-duty when returning to work unexpectedly
Environmental (Radiation) allowance as applicable
Travel and Subsistence for out-of-region and overtime assignments.
This post does not offer any assistance with relocation allowances.
Employment Hours
You will be contracted to work 37 hours a week, typically between 08:00-16:00, however through the above allowances, you will have the opportunity to increase your potential earnings.
Security Clearance
Once onboarded, the successful candidate will be put through the application process to achieve the higher Developed Vetting security clearance level.
