An exciting opportunity has arisen as the Cardiac Physiology Non-Invasive Services Lead at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking to recruit a clinically expert, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our multi disciplinary department.
We undertake the full range of cardiac diagnostic tests including Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET), Nuclear Cardiology procedures, exercise tolerance testing and event monitor analysis working across 2 hospital sites in Oxford and Banbury and several other community settings.
This is an ideal opportunity for a current band 7 seeking to develop their leadership and management skills and gain experience in service development.
Main duties of the job
Working with the Head of Cardiac Physiology , the post holder will assist in the running of all Cardiac Physiology Non-Invasive and Nuclear Cardiology services.
The post holder will support in the delivery of a high quality, efficient service to patients and to supervise, guide and support staff in performance of their roles in the department.
The post holder will be expected to work as an independent practitioner.
We expect the successful applicant to have the ability to work independently and you will also be expected to participate in the training and appraisal of junior staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To lead the management and development of the Cardiac Physiology Non-Invasive Services service for the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) in collaboration with the Clinical Service Unit (CSU) Leads and Head of Cardiac Physiology.
Independently deliver procedures and be responsible for the training and developmentof other staff to develop and maintain service delivery, ensuring excellent patient care.
To work collaboratively with the Head of Cardiac Physiology, Directorate Leadership Team and CSU leads to ensure the efficient operational management of the service.
To be visible, easily identifiable, and accessible to patients and relatives, providing overall leadership, direction and vision for the service.
To assist the Head of Cardiac Physiology in meeting the objectives and responsibilities as defined within the Directorate strategy.
In collaboration with the Head of Cardiac Physiology ensure that service provision is delivered as the responsible budget holder and ensure that government targets are achieved.To be responsible for the supervision and direct management of the Cardiac Physiology MDT

Essential
Essential criteria- BSc Cardiac Physiology or equivalent
- Extensive experience within the field of cardiac diagnostics, procedures and investigations
- •Can provide evidence of effective leadership and developmental work undertaken at senior level • Evidence of relevant managerial experience within a clinical environment understanding and managing HR, Finance and Clinical Risk/Governance issues
- Evidence of innovative work undertaken within the speciality.
- The ability to liaise confidently & effectively with other disciplines internally within the Trust and externally
- Masters level/PhD education or expected to work towards in this post. • Managerial qualification
