About the Job
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Exams Assistant to join our team at Newham College, NewVIc campus on 6 month fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient administration of examinations across the college.You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring that exams are managed in accordance with awarding body regulations and college policies. The role is for a 6-month fixed-term initially, with a possibility of a permanent role in future.
Key responsibilities- Coordinate and administer examinations, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations and JCQ guidelines.
- Schedule exam timetables and manage room allocations in collaboration with curriculum teams.
- Process exam entries, results, and certificates, maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
- Support students and staff with exam-related queries, including access arrangements and post-results services.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in an administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing data and records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.
- Confidence in using IT systems.
- Knowledge of JCQ and awarding body regulations (desirable but not essential).
