Insurance Director
What you'll bring to the team:
We are seeking an exceptional Insurance Director to lead the strategic development, management and delivery of our Group's global insurance programme. This newly created, stand-alone role will act as a specialist advisor to our Corporate Governance & Secretariat Director and Chief Legal Officer, helping to shape and safeguard the Group’s financial and legal interests worldwide.This role can be based either in Poole or London.
As Insurance Director, you will manage critical relationships with our global insurance broker, third-party administrators and insurers, ensuring competitive insurance solutions that align with the Group’s risk appetite and broader strategic goals.
You will play a vital role in identifying new risks, optimising our risk financing strategies and ensuring we maintain robust, efficient and cost-effective insurance coverage across a dynamic, global operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic direction of the Group’s global insurance programme.
- Manage the annual renewal process, broker relationships and claims strategy.
- Advise on insurance and indemnity clauses for contracts and leases.
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Property, Finance, Procurement, Health, Safety & Security and Global Operations teams.
- Horizon scan for emerging risks and recommend appropriate cover.
- Deliver insurance-related recommendations to senior leadership, Executive Committee and Board.
- Develop data-driven insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Build knowledge-sharing frameworks and provide training across the business.
Qualifications & Experience:
You will be a strategic, commercially minded insurance professional with:
- 7–10 years’ experience in insurance or risk management, ideally within a large, global organisation.
- Strong knowledge of insurance markets and coverages relevant to the leisure and hospitality sectors.
- Proven expertise in business partnering, contract review, strategic planning, and managing external providers.
- ACII qualification (preferred) and/or a degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
You will bring strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and influencing ability, financial acumen and a passion for driving process improvements. A high level of cultural competence and experience working with global teams is essential.

Pay Range: Compensation between GBP £70,000.00/Yr.-GBP £85,000.00/Yr.
