An opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team in Carmarthenshire for a Team secretary. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to provide general administration support to the multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will possess excellent communication skills so as to sensitively handle telephone dialogue with patients and professionals.
The role will involve undertaking all administrative processes associated with patient activity and the post holder must be aware of the highly confidential nature of this role.
Main duties of the job
Working 28 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to support the delivery of a comprehensive and quality secretarial service to the Cardiac Rehabilitation multi disciplinary team.
You will undertake a wide-range of duties including receipt and distribution of mail, audio transcription, and the typing of highly sensitive letters and reports, maintaining confidentiality at all times, in addition to operation of the Health Board’s patient database system.You will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work. You must be able to work on your initiative, use tact and diplomacy where appropriate and possess excellent communication skills.
Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and E-Mail, coupled with proven secretarial skills (including audio typing skills) and previous experience of medical terminology is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria- Level 3, or equivalent level of competency in Word Processing and Audio Transcription
- Knowledge of a range of secretarial procedures
- Knowledge of Software programmes – e.g. Microsoft packages, e-mail Internet and databases
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent
- NVQ level 2 in administration
Experience
Essential criteria- Previous secretarial and/or administration experience
- Health Service experience – familiar with the use of medical terms
