Job Description
Payroll Assistant- Support the accurate and timely processing of payroll data, ensuring records are maintained in line with statutory requirements.
- Assist with reconciliations, variance checks, month‑end processes, and the preparation of routine payroll reports for review and sign‑off.
- Maintain statutory payroll records and support compliance checks, including National Minimum Wage and other regulatory requirements.
- Support the administration of pensions and statutory leave and payments, ensuring accurate records and timely submissions.
- Respond to payroll queries, provide payroll information to colleagues and managers, and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Provide basic system support to ensure payroll-related data is entered accurately.
- Assist the Payroll Manager and other team members with ad‑hoc tasks and projects, contributing to continuous improvement of payroll processes.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Payroll Assistant should have:
- Previous experience in payroll processing
- Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data
- Knowledge of relevant payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
