You will:
- Have overall day to day management responsibility for the pre school
- Be responsible for the efficient running of the nursery and overall delivery of a high-quality service
- Ensure that the pre school provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outside with nature
- Ensure that the pre school plans an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
- Ensure the pre school meets Ofsted requirements at all times
- Manage, supervise and support the pre school team / staff
- Undertake and assign designated officer roles
- Work with other professionals and organisations in the local area for the benefit of children and families
- Promote the pre school locally and participate in marketing activities to increase local awareness and interest when required
- Ensure all staff understand and work to preschool policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints, and emergencies.
- Take responsibility for planning, which ensures each child is working towards the early learning goals
- Organise and participate in the key person system
- Conduct staff appraisals and supervisions as appropriate and to identify staff training needs
- Ensure all records are properly maintained in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company
- Communicate and liaise closely with parents/carers, producing regular newsletters and informing them about the pre school and its curriculum, and exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement.
- Work in partnership with senior management to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills (memos, writing and constructing)
- Have basic IT, excel spreadsheets, word, digital apps
- Have basic, mathematical and numerical skills, analysis
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the pre school philosophy / aims and objectives
Qualifications Requirements:
- Previous management experience essential
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent.
- Pediatric First Aid
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)
- Recent clear DBS
