Wanted to start a career within Pharmacy but didn’t know where to start? We are recruiting for Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians to join the Imperial College NHS Trust as an Apprentice!
You will be paid at 70% of the top of band 4 in your first year and 75% in your second. There is pay protection for people currently employed in the NHS bands 2 -4.
Fixed term contract terminating 30/09/2027
The course is challenging and requires study in your own time.
Due to this being an apprenticeship you can only apply if your meet below criteria:
- Have the equivalent of 9 to 4 or A* to C pass at GCSE Level in English Lan, Math, Science plus 1 other subject pass.
- Overseas qualifications - require ENIC Statement of Comparability.
- You cannot be considered with Access to HE qualifications or Degrees if they contain a pharmacology content.
Education provider reviews qualifications, submission of qualification certificates/ENIC statement of comparability are required before interview.
As a Pharmacy Technicians apprentice, you’ll participate in a training programme. Involving work based training and formal study (underpinning knowledge). You’ll need to be patient focused, have good interpersonal and communication skills, a quick learner, ability to adapt, keen to get involved and be committed to the training programme.Interviews to be held on the 28h & 29st May 2025

Main duties of the job
As a member of the pharmacy team your duties will include dispensing prescriptions, medicine management at ward level, stores/distribution and aseptic production. Your rota will span across Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital so you must be able to travel to all sites.
You will also be required to work as part of the late duty and weekend / bank holiday team rotas
We are focused on personal development and will give you the support you need to achieve your qualification however, the ability to cope with the discipline of studying and a commitment to completing course work in your own time and within deadline whist working as part of a team within in a busy department is essential.

Education
Essential criteria- 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including Maths, English Language, 1 Science (core) and 1 other subject
- Non UK qualifications to be supported by a ENIC statement of comparability equivalent to the 4 GSCEs in Maths, English Language, Science and 1 other subject
- A levels
- Undergraduate qualification
