Senior Flood Risk Consultant We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join our thriving Water Environment team within our Birmingham office.This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team, lead models on a range of projects locally and nationally, and mentor and develop other business consultants.The role requires developing relationships with clients and regulators, as well as managing varied and challenging projects.
You will be a key contributor within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary consultancy operating across a diverse portfolio of projects. Your responsibilities will include technical execution, business development, work-winning strategies, budgetary control, and preparing comprehensive fee proposals.
You will also play a pivotal role in the strategic growth and development of the Water & Environment Team in this region.While working within a design office environment, you/ll also be actively engaged in design and site meetings, conducting site inspections, and providing detailed progress reports.
Effective communication and liaison with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities are essential for project success.Your technical expertise will be utilized in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, completing thorough Flood Risk Assessments, and bid preparation.
You will also undertake research and contribute to business development efforts to attract new clients and expand our services. About You To excel in this role, you will possess a Bachelor/s degree, ideally complemented by a higher degree, in a water-related discipline, along with significant consultancy or industry experience as a senior modeller.

You will have substantial expertise in conducting flood risk assessments in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and, where applicable, Technical Advice Note 15 (TAN 15). The primary focus of this position is hydrological and hydraulic modeling, often using software such as Flood Modeler Pro or TUFLOW.You will demonstrate a strong understanding of the operational frameworks of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities.

Up-to-date knowledge of planning policies and procedures, and the ability to leverage these for client service and approvals, is essential. As a self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills, you should be capable of working autonomously while coordinating effectively with your line manager.
