This is an exciting opportunity for a band 7 ward sister/Charge Nurse to lead a caring and compassionate team specialising in the delivery of Care of Older People services within Colchester Hospital.
We provide the highest quality of nursing care to both male and female patients. The ward is a 36 bedded ward.
The applicant must be enthusiastic and motivated to lead in a busy environment. They should also have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to organise and prioritise workload, be an effective, approachable leader and have a history of managing change and developing a safety culture and promote harm free care.

This is a Fixed Term post to cover maternity leave until 01/01/2026.
Internal candidates will be offered the role on a secondment basis.
To provide high quality nursing care and continuing responsibility for the management of Birch ward.
To provide direction and leadership to the nursing team.
To implement and manage effective change management.
Establish and maintain effective professional networking relationships with the multi-professional team across ESNEFT.
To take operational responsibility for the effective utilisation of all appropriate resources.
To deputise in the absence of the Matron.
To be involved in clinical audit and teaching
