FJA is recruiting on behalf of a leading utilities service provider for an experienced Senior/Principal Process Engineer. This role, based primarily in Essex & Suffolk, will report to the Regional Discipline Lead (Process) or Senior Design Manager, strengthening the Engineering team.

Senior/Principal Process Engineer responsibilities:
- To create high-quality process design documents and drawings, including process calculations, P&IDs, PFDs, and Control Philosophy, ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements, contract specifications, and relevant standards.
- To collaborate and coordinate design efforts with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, EICA, environmental) to deliver a comprehensive design across various projects.
- To support other disciplines in their design production and technical specifications, providing input on process and process safety. As a key point of contact between disciplines, this role involves fostering trust and synergy within the team.
- To actively support the delivery, commissioning, and management teams by providing effective solutions to technical issues.
- To deliver effective designs that account for the total cost of the solution, including design time, material costs, erection costs, and any impact on other disciplines.
- Assist the design manager on the different deliverables at different design stage.
- To guide and support graduates throughout their development program, offering assistance and mentorship.
- To ensure that the design fully complies with all health and safety regulations.
Senior/Principal Process Engineer requirements:
- Knowledge of clean water, wastewater, reuse, and/or sludge treatment process design is essential; experience from other industries is also highly valued.
- Proven experience in developing process calculations, including mass balance, energy balance, and hydraulic calculations.
